(Qualitative Study at Cipasung Islamic Boarding School and KH Zaenal Mustofa Sukamanah Islamic Boarding School in Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java)

Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions expected to build Islamic character in students, producing graduates with various competencies to navigate the changes in the modern era. Legality is crucial for pesantren graduates, both in the workforce and in education. Therefore, Character Education in Islamic Boarding Schools is essential to balance the knowledge provided in these institutions with the leadership management of the Kyai. This research focuses on Kyai Leadership Management in Character Education, with the following objectives:
1) To identify the material and character education developed by Cipasung Islamic Boarding School and Sukamanah Islamic Boarding School.
2) To understand the implementation process of character education at Cipasung and Sukamanah Islamic Boarding Schools.
3) To evaluate the outcomes of the character education of students, resulting from the educational process at these modern boarding schools.
The research is grounded in the following theoretical framework:
1) Love of God and truth,
2) Responsibility, discipline, and independence,
3) Trust,
4) Respect and manners,
5) Compassion, concern, and cooperation,
6) Self-confidence, creativity, and perseverance,
7) Fair and spirited leadership,
8) Kindness and humility,
9) Tolerance and peace-loving.
The research methodology follows a qualitative approach, with the study conducted at Cipasung and Sukamanah Islamic Boarding Schools in Tasikmalaya. The main findings of the study are...
